Oh Alice ... CHAPTER 28 :: Child of the Pure Unclouded Brow ...

I'm still away at Paperific ... so this post is scheduled... hope it shows up properly :D

CHAPTER 28:
(taken from "Child of the Pure Unclouded Brow: preface to "Through the Looking Glass"

Child of the pure unclouded brow
And dreaming eyes of wonder!
Though time be fleet, and I and thou
Are half a life asunder,
Thy loving smile will surely hail
The love-gift of a fairy-tale.

I have not seen thy sunny face,
Nor heard thy silver laughter;
No thought of me shall find a place
In thy young life's hereafter -
Enough that now thou wilt not fail
To listen to my fairy-tale.

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge : A rose is a rose

I'm just scraping in with my entry for the current Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge which is:
"A ROSE IS A ROSE...."
"So anything with a rose on it, papers, hand made, paper rose, fabric rose etc is a pass!"

I have used this gorgeous image that one of my lovely stamping blogging buddies sent to me so I could have a little play AND there is a rose on the image - how apt.. oh, and I added some rose petals too (which I coloured black first).

I have always thought this Lil Lolita looked a little sad so thought the sentiment "thinking of you" would work well! I got the newsletter from my LSS this week and they are now selling Kellie's Lil Lolitas! How cool!

Hope you are all having lovely weeks.. mine has been a bit hectic thus far but tomorrow I do to Melbourne! YAY! Can't wait!

Oh Alice...CHAPTER 27 :: Prizes for Dodo ...

"This question the Dodo could not answer without a great deal of thought, and it sat for a long time with one finger pressed upon its forehead (the position in which you usually see Shakespeare, in the pictures of him), while the rest waited in silence. At last the Dodo said, `EVERYBODY has won, and all must have prizes.'

`But who is to give the prizes?' quite a chorus of voices asked.

`Why, SHE, of course,' said the Dodo, pointing to Alice with one finger; and the whole party at once crowded round her, calling out in a confused way, `Prizes! Prizes!'

Alice had no idea what to do, and in despair she put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a box of comfits, (luckily the salt water had not got into it), and handed them round as prizes. There was exactly one a-piece all round. `But she must have a prize herself, you know,' said the Mouse.

`Of course,' the Dodo replied very gravely. `What else have you got in your pocket?' he went on, turning to Alice..."

Hello all!

We are so excited about today's inspiration piece, which just so happens to feature Alice and the lovable Dodo she encounters along her adventures in Wonderland. We'll even spare Dodo the croquet game today...less headache! ;)

The Mad Hatter herself is VERY fond of Tarina Tarantino jewelry and is lucky enough to own a VERY fun ring that she scored while in Disneyworld last time. Check out the fabulous Queen Alice ring HERE.

For today's challenge, we are all gaga over this beautiful piece:

Your mission today is to create SPARKLY FABULOUSNESS (yes, include some BLING, please!) as inspired by the above photo.

There are some very blingtastic samples from the DT over at Oh, Alice!

I coloured up this gorgeous sweet pea image that I stamped at CA the other night (THANKS Mel) and well... dragons are hoarders of treasure/ prizes/ bling right?? I added some pretty sparkles that were given to my by my friend T (she has been quite unwell recently - so if you are the praying type please remember her in your prayers!)

I'm off to finish packing boxes of stuff to ship to Melbourne on Monday! boy it's a bigger job than I thought! LOL! Hope you are all having a good weekend!

CA&F :: Watcha tootin about Wednesday

I LOVED Kim's tutorial over on Club Anya and Friends Whatcha Tooting about Wednesday - Tooting Magnetism - and just had to have a go at creating me some TFG magnets of my own!

I had a few glossy accents disasters.. oops not again! LOL .. (this time it was me just getting fingers and other things in the wrong place and messing it up) But I did end up with two decent magnets... Here they are.
I used Anya from the Spotlight set and cut her out with a nestie :D, stuck a promotional magnet on the back of her and added the glossy accents! This one came out ok.. it's fairly thin :)this is the back of it...
and for my second magnet I have used a Miss Anya and a little circular magnet .. oops the glossy accents on this one are not completely dry!

side view to see the back of the magnet...

and here is a portion of our fridge... now holding the two gorgeous TGF magnets :D

Thanks for stopping by!!

CA&F Sketchy Saturday

I just love the sketches that Pam puts up for Saturday Sketches at Club Anya and Friends.. so glad to be able to play along again! :D Here is my card using Stella (from The Greeting Farm)... I must admit I went a little crazy on the Kinderglitz ... perhaps I thought I was back in Kinder. lol!

Mum and Dad bought me back a few sets of stamps when they returned from Paris earlier this year and I realised last night when asked by Mum that I had not used them yet... as mostly just been using digis and DT stamps recently.. so I inked up these postal ones!

Speaking of postal stamps... If you are looking for some really funky ones check out Bizzy Becs - she has some fun new ones just released!!

I used the airbrush on all coloured areas of this (even the PP).. except the skin... the first version had pink airbrushing over the skin but I could not cope so recoloured on white and then layered up my image!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS... like the pink??? Our M4M challenge this month is to colour pink... so would love you to pop on over and join in!

Based in New Zealand the aim of our blog is to give the papercrafters from downunder a chance to play along in some wicked challenges. Oh Alice...CHAPTER 26: Sizin' up a Sketch...

"The Caterpillar was the first to speak.

`What size do you want to be?' it asked.

`Oh, I'm not particular as to size,' Alice hastily replied; `only one doesn't like changing so often, you know.'

`I DON'T know,' said the Caterpillar.

Alice said nothing: she had never been so much contradicted in her life before, and she felt that she was losing her temper.

`Are you content now?' said the Caterpillar.

`Well, I should like to be a LITTLE larger, sir, if you wouldn't mind,' said Alice: `three inches is such a wretched height to be.'

`It is a very good height indeed!' said the Caterpillar angrily, rearing itself upright as it spoke (it was exactly three inches high).

`But I'm not used to it!' pleaded poor Alice in a piteous tone. And she thought of herself, `I wish the creatures wouldn't be so easily offended!'

`You'll get used to it in time,' said the Caterpillar; and it put the hookah into its mouth and began smoking again..."

Hello! How is everyone here in Wonderland today?

We are sizing up a GREAT sketch by JEN and the main panel just HAPPENS to be THREE. INCHES. TALL. :) Now, of course you don't have to stick to this if your image won't fit, but we didn't want to anger Mr. Caterpillar by saying that Three inches wasn't a respectable height, so here's the sketch:

And here are some samples by our AWESOMELY Twisted team:
Jessica {The Mad Hatter}
Stephanie {August tea party Guest}
{the Twisted thirteen}
and Me...

This image is the Cheshire Cat - A digi image from Spesch Stamps ... I coloured her up during our Copic club (a.ka. Copics Anonymous) Friday night...Colours are R81, 83, 85 and BV02, 04

Have a mad day ... I know that I will!!
